The Caribbean offers fantastic sailing trips throughout the year. Temperatures rarely vary more than a few degrees year round. Trade winds blow throughout most of the year, and are strongest and most reliable during the winter months. Rain showers occur often throughout the year, but are more frequently during the summer months.

During the summer months there is always a danger of hurricanes. However, in the southern part of the Caribbean, hurricanes are quite rare. Many cruising sailors return to the United States during these summer months, and others go further south to Grenada,Venezuela, or the Dutch Antilles, which are south of the hurricane zone.
