Can you give any advice on a boat insurer for international cruising, that does not require a survey? I'm about to leave on a trip (although we won't be leaving the States for a couple months) and the boat needs to be insured like yesterday. I'm still pretty new to this boat insurance thing, but we don't really have time for a survey.

Cheers

There is also optional coverage that you should really consider. One type of coverage that you should strongly consider is Wreckage Removal.Hawaiian Volcano Cruise
In most areas, the removal of sunken or wrecked boats is required by law, and the responsibility of the owner to pay for the removal, which can easily be very expensive.

First of all it has to kept in mind that companies head towards insurance sector estimating good market potential and profit margin. So it is fallacy that insurance are solely meant to provide consumer protection. Secondly, a lot of technical issues relate to insurance policies. So in depth study of technical aspects is a pre-requisite to reclaim insurance money.
There are many insurance companies which have distinct offering and policies. Only best suitable plan suitable to individual need and concern should be chosen.
